GriefShare is a special weekly support group for people grieving the death of someone close. It’s a place where you can be around people who understand the pain of your loss. You will learn valuable information that will help you through this difficult time in your life.
A new support group will begin on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. This 9-week program will combine practical information with a biblical, Christ-centered focus on the spiritual issues which accompany the grieving process. In addition, you will find leaders who desire to walk with you during this difficult time.
The Tuesday afternoon group will meet in MBC’s Family Life Center (FLC) Room 130 from 1:30—3:00 p.m.
If you’ve lost someone close to you, or know someone who has, please contact Trudy Hoffsommer to find out more information about our current GriefShare support groups.
There aren’t many people around you who understand the pain your divorce or separation has caused. To you. Your family. Your friends. That’s the reason for DivorceCare. It’s a special weekly support group and seminar conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. The groups are usually small and the environment is relaxed and non-threatening. It provides a safe place for hurting people to learn, share and be encouraged.
Classes meet on Wednesday nights, beginning January 6, at 6:45 – 8:15 p.m. in in the Family Life Center (FLC) Room 130. Contact Trudy Hoffsommer for more information.
Single Parent Support Group
We still have trouble using those words to describe ourselves. You, too? We never intended to be here, but due to circumstances we might or might not have been able to control, we have landed on this new planet.
Metropolitan Baptist has a group of parents who meet together on Wednesday evenings during the same time block as many other programs our church offers for children. We are a blend of divorced, widowed, guys, gals, with young kids or nearly grown kids. Some weeks we watch videos to inspire us, and other weeks we just feel the need to talk about our week.
Please consider joining us soon. We understand the journey you are on.
Wednesdays, 6:45—8:15 in Room 129 of the “gym” building.
Metropolitan Baptist Church is at the corner of N Rockwell Avenue and W Britton Road. You will find parking on both the east and west sides of the main building. The main entrance is on the east side. If you are not a member, visitor parking is available near the main entrance.
