About Me

I want to know God, personally, more and more. I’ve learned that God’s Word is powerful and truly speaks to the deepest needs of the human heart. I love to teach His Word, try to apply it to my life, and help others learn and apply it to their lives.

I’m so grateful for my wife, Kathy, and our children, Sandy, Jennifer and Kevin. I’m grateful for their spouses, Matt, Joseph and Alina. Our first grandchild, Andy, is a joy to spend time with, too.

After serving in one place for so many years, God has led me to appreciate the uniqueness of individuals. He constantly reveals new things about them, i.e., what He is doing in them and how He has made them in His image. I love to help people who struggle with life issues, and equip people to bear each other’s burdens. I serve on our Mission’s Committee and direct our Annual Missions Festival. I teach a Sunday School class for couples and single adults called “Ark” which started in 1992.

I continue to lead a Tuesday night men’s basketball outreach to our community. I played football and baseball at New Mexico State University, and have enjoyed reconnecting with some of my fellow teammates recently. Our football team played in the Arizona Bowl in Tucson, AZ in late December, 2017. Kathy and I were able to attend and had a wonderful time.  We also brought back a desert lizard by “accident,” and have given it a new home in our home. Anybody have some advice for us on caring for lizards?
