I want to know God better. I’ve learned that God’s Word is powerful and truly speaks to the deepest needs of the human heart. I enjoy studying and meditating on His Word, and then teaching it. I want to apply it to my life and help others apply it to their lives.
I’m so grateful for my wife Kathy, and our children, Sandy, Jennifer and her husband, Joseph, and Kevin. They are huge blessing in my life.
After serving in one place for so many years, God has given me a great appreciation for the uniqueness of the people. He constantly reveals new things about them. He is always doing things in their lives, changing them and shaping them to be more like His Son. It encourages me to see God bring His grace to people over time and in various situations.
I’m drawn to help people in their challenges and life issues. I work with others to train people to share in burden-bearing, through our Stephen Ministry. I serve on our Missions Committee and direct our annual Missions Festival. I teach an adult Sunday School Class called the Ark which started in 1992. I continue to lead a Tuesday night men’s basketball outreach to our community.
In this last year, Kathy and I enjoyed a trip to Ecuador with Jen and Joseph to meet his family and travel in the country. I also traveled to Haiti with two other men from our church for a short-term Mission trip.
