I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home by parents who taught and demonstrated the love of Christ. At age 8, I realized I needed a Savior…THE Savior…Who loved me and gave Himself for me on the cross as payment for my sin. I confessed my sin, repented of it and claimed Jesus as Savior and Lord of my life. I’ve journeyed with Him ever since…through doubt, failure and success, seeking to know Him more and to make Him known through the life I live.
Music has always been a part of my life…at home, in school and in church. From my earliest memories, I’ve been an “MMK” (Music Minister’s Kid). My sisters and I took piano lessons. My mom taught me in Children’s Choirs, and my dad always led me in youth choirs and got me to playing trombone. My dad sang solos, he and I sang duets, my mom would do duets w/dad and sing in women’s trios, and our family (parents, me and two sisters) would often sing together as well. I loved it all. I’ve never known anything different. I guess that’s why I feel that learning to sing praise to God is such a vital element of discipleship and important in the life of every Christian.
God added incredible blessing (and stability!) to my life when I met Nancy. In our premarital counseling, we learned I’m the idealist and she’s the realist. We married shortly after I’d started full time vocational ministry. The Lord has modeled Himself to me through her in so many ways. She’s truly been my hero as she’s partnered with me in life, ministry and raising a family. We welcome opportunities to be together in encouraging young couples and families as they seek to build Godly homes centered on Christ and His purposes for the family.
As we begin this chapter of life with the Metropolitan family, may He find us faithful in serving Him and YOU!
