Connecting With Metropolitan

Connecting with Metropolitan are classes for those interested in becoming members or just wanting to know more about the church and what we believe. A 3-week session is offered on a Sunday morning every two or three months led by our Elders.

Announcements of upcoming classes are made from the pulpit, in written communications, and online. If you are interested in attending the next session, please sign up at the conclusion of a morning worship service at the front of the auditorium. A pastor will assist you in completing the information on the sign-up sheet. You may also sign up by calling the church office at 405-722-2550 during the week or using the sign up form on our website.

These classes will inform you about the history and character of our church. You will also learn about how the church is organized, governed and about our basic beliefs. Our senior pastor will talk about our vision, mission and core values and ministry opportunities will be presented. There will also be teaching about discipleship, stewardship and giving opportunities at Metropolitan.

At the end of each session, attendees are asked to make a decision about membership. Becoming a member does not require a vote of the congregation. Those wishing to join should be believers and should be in agreement with our church’s beliefs on essentials of the faith.

Participating in these classes is an important part of becoming a member. Special arrangements are made for younger students who wish to become members. New members are normally presented to the church body on the second Sunday following the class.
