Support and Care Groups
GriefShare – a weekly support group for people grieving the death of someone close
DivorceCare – a special weekly support group and seminar conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing
“Friends” are people in the prime of their lives (55 and older), and at Metropolitan we believe for such people, the best is yet to be. Our purpose is to provide fellowship for enrichment and outreach opportunities within our church and community. Future plans and outings will be announced.
We take seriously the grief a widow or widower has experienced and keep communication lines open through luncheons held on the second Monday of the month designed especially for them in the home of one of our members. We call these our “Young at Heart” luncheons. The church provides meat, and those who come bring a salad, side dish, or dessert. Any widow or widower is invited to join us. Call the church office (405-722-2550) for more information.
Pastor Faulkner and Pastor Hermansen both visit in the homes of Friends on a weekly basis, as well as making sure they are seen in the hospital. Friends are glad to be V.I.P.’s at Metropolitan.
Metropolitan Baptist Church is at the corner of N Rockwell Avenue and W Britton Road. You will find parking on both the east and west sides of the main building. The main entrance is on the east side. If you are not a member, visitor parking is available near the main entrance.
