Our Vision is to know God and to share his love by serving people.
Our Core Values
Our four core values are based on those of the early church as presented in Acts 2:41-47.
“So then those who received his word were baptized; and there were added that day about three thousand souls… And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.” Acts 2:41, 47
We believe that the command of Jesus to proclaim the gospel to all nations is a command to all Christians of all ages. This command shows us the heart of God with respect to unbelievers. It is at the center of His will and purpose for us on this earth, both individually and corporately.
We believe that evangelism is both a process and a lifestyle. Our objective is to teach our people how to clearly share the good news of Christ, to encourage them to form relationships with unbelievers and to provide regular individual and corporate outreach activities.
We will have open arms, minds and hearts, lovingly reaching out to unbelievers in our community. We will depend on the power of the Holy Spirit to draw people to faith in Jesus Christ and will not manipulate or pressure in our evangelistic efforts.
We will support evangelism in other places by encouraging our people to give to missionaries and mission organization and to consider short term and vocational missionary service.
“And they were continually devoting themselves…to fellowship…And all those who believed were together, and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions, and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need…they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart” Acts 2:42, 44, 45, 46
We believe that the body of Christ is by its nature an interdependent and closely knit organism which is to embody the love of Christ to its members. Jesus said, “By this shall all men know that you are My disciples in that you have love for one another.” John 13:35
Our objective is to build loving relationships through an emphasis on each individual’s intimate and growing relationship with Christ, allowing His love to flow through us to others.
We will encourage a lifestyle that allows time to cultivate relationships. We will emphasize values that foster loving and caring for each other, especially those who are hurting or in need. We will seek to nurture a caring fellowship that reaches out and reaches in, providing unconditional love and acceptance.
“And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching…” Acts 2:42
We believe that the scripture is the basis for our doctrine and practice as a local church. We have the highest view of the Bible as the infallible and authoritative Word of God. Jesus instructed His disciples that their commission involved teaching believers to observe all that He commanded them.
Our objective is through the teaching of God’s Word to have a knowledge of the truth, a changed heart and spiritual growth, equipping us to live for Christ in the world.
We will emphasize expository Bible teaching coupled with relevant application to daily living. We will endeavor to be balanced and complete in teaching Biblical truth. We will provide training to those interested in studying or teaching the Bible.
“And they were continually devoting themselves…to the breaking of bread and to prayer…praising God.”
Jesus instructed us that “true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth” John 4:23
We believe that worship is the body of Christ coming together in the presence of our holy God to present our expressions of praise, adoration, thanksgiving, confession, petition, and commitment to Him. We worship as we sing, give our offerings, pray, testify, exhort, meditate, teach and apply the scriptures and observe baptism and the Lord’s supper. Our worship is to be pleasing to God. The ultimate expression of our individual worship is to surrender our life, all that we are and have, to God as a sacrificial offering and live for Him (Romans 12:1-2).
Our objective is to experience God, to bring honor and glory to Him and to be changed by His Spirit working within us.
We will carefully and prayerfully plan worship services that will encourage our people to become actively involved as worshippers, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. We will be willing to change the form of our worship to remain relevant to our worshippers while not changing the function of our worship.
